The work, in the order we'd rank it

Rot repair built this business. Everything else we do sits on the same habit: open it up, fix the cause, then make it look like nothing happened.

Unfinished basement with exposed floor joists, block walls and new stud framing during a structural repair
01

Our specialty

Wood rot repair

Soft trim, spongy decking, siding that has taken on twenty winters of rain. Most contractors would rather not open it up, because nobody knows how far it goes until someone does. We do, then we rebuild the structure underneath instead of covering it over.

Finished cedar deck with a timber-framed patio cover and wide steps down to the yard
02

Decks & patio covers

New builds and rebuilds, framed and flashed to hold up to wet winters and shaded summers.

Remodeled kitchen with white shaker cabinets, a slate blue island with a white quartz top, two glass pendant lights, stainless appliances and wide plank wood-look flooring
03

Kitchen remodeling

Layout, cabinets, counters, and the plumbing and electrical that live behind them.

Finished bathroom with a floating walnut vanity, brass fixtures and vertical wood-look tile around the tub
04

Bathroom remodeling

Full rebuilds, including the subfloor damage a leaking shower leaves behind.

Two carpenters fitting a wide sliding glass door into the opening of a gray-sided house, with bare studs and insulation visible inside
05

Framing & large doors

Structural framing and 12ft sliding and accordion door installs, headers included.

Interior stripped to bare walls mid remodel, with a new opening framed through to the dining room and a temporary post in place
06

General remodeling

One trade or the whole project. The person who quotes it is the person who runs it.

Not sure which one it is?

Send photos and a short description. Anything in before 5pm gets an answer the same day, and we will tell you honestly if it is not a job for us.

Four things that decide most of these jobs

Owner-led accountability

The owner personally reviews and prices every project and remains connected and involved in the project from estimate through completion. Our trusted crews are fully briefed on the scope before arriving. Each project gets personal oversight to ensure the highest level of communication, expectations and quality of work.

Licensed in both states

Washington and Oregon, so a job on either side of the river is not a complication. Oregon CCB #262707 · WA Lic. #EVERGRS757MC.

An answer the same day

Send photos before 5pm and you hear back before the day is out, even if the answer is that it is not a job for us.

Three steps, and you approve the middle one

The uncertainty in remodeling is not whether we can build it. It is what we find once it is open. So the process puts that moment in the middle, in writing, with your signature on it.

We come and look

Photos get you a same day answer. A real price needs eyes on it, because what you can see is never the whole problem.

Room under renovation with a wall opened to the studs beside a window
2

You get two numbers

Confirmed work priced firm, and possible hidden damage priced as a separate line. Nothing in the second column happens without your say-so.

3

We fix the cause, then the room

Water gets stopped at its entry point, structure gets rebuilt to code, and the finish gets matched so you cannot find the repair.

Rot repair and remodeling, before and after

A finished photo shows you a room. A pair shows you the work. Pick a project, then drag the handle across it.

This is what a leak leaves behind the tile: framing stained dark where the water sat, insulation exposed, the drain open in the subfloor. Drag across to see the room closed up and tiled under the same skylight.

The wall stripped to its framing, a ladder standing in the new opening and the floor covered for the work. Opening a wall starts with checking what it carries, before anything is cut. After: a stone-topped island, pendant lights and wood cabinets, open to the room beyond.

Owner-led accountability, which is the whole point

Evergreen Remodeling is run by David Cosoi. Owner-led accountability means the person who looks at your job is the person who prices it and the person who runs it. Nothing gets handed to a crew who never saw the house.

The work that built the business is wood rot repair, which is also the work that tells you most about a contractor: it cannot be quoted from a photo, and it almost always turns out bigger than it looked.

Before you call anyone

The five things people ask us first, answered the way we would answer them on the phone.

No. Send photos and a short description and you get an answer the same day if it arrives before 5pm. A firm price needs someone on site, and that visit does not cost you anything either.

Press it. Sound wood feels solid under a fingertip. Rot feels soft, papery or spongy, and the paint over it often bubbles or flakes in patches. If a screwdriver sinks in with light pressure, the wood is gone. Send a photo either way.

Only with your say-so. The estimate comes as two numbers: confirmed work priced firm, and possible hidden damage priced as a separate line. Nothing in the second column happens until you approve it.

Yes. We are licensed in Washington and Oregon, Oregon CCB #262707 · WA Lic. #EVERGRS757MC, so a job in Portland is no more complicated for us than one in Vancouver.

Bring us a written estimate from another contractor for the same scope and we will match or beat it by 10% on most jobs. If we cannot, we will say so rather than quietly cutting the scope to hit a number.

We call back on this number, we do not add it to a list.
